Make Communities Happen- Harlan
The Community Foundation for Western Iowa will host Make Communities Happen, a one-day convening focused on helping communities move beyond planning and into coordinated action. The Community Foundation will hold three convening options throughout western Iowa to accommodate schedules: April 21, 22 and 23 (registration information is below).
Many communities have invested in strategic plans and identified priorities, yet implementation often proves challenging, particularly when progress depends on collaboration across multiple organizations and sectors. This convening is designed to address that implementation gap.
Make Communities Happen brings together city and county officials, nonprofit and organizational leaders, and community stakeholders to examine why action frequently stalls after planning and what conditions support effective execution. The focus is not on developing new plans or proposing solutions, but on improving collaboration, clarifying roles, and identifying realistic next steps. By the end of the convening, participants will have a clearer understanding of the barriers to execution, stronger cross-sector alignment, and greater confidence in advancing existing priorities.
This convening reflects the Community Foundation for Western Iowa’s commitment to supporting practical, collaborative approaches to community progress across the region.
