Mental Health Fund Grant

Grants

The Southwest Iowa Mental Health and Substance Abuse Fund application is open June 15 through July 15.

Grants ranging from $500 to $2,500 per organization are available for projects in one (or more) of the following three focus areas: Education; Raising Awareness; and Providing Learning and Development Opportunities for area service providers.

Deadline

2026 grant applications open June 15th and are due by 11:59 p.m. on July 15.

Granting Criteria

PROJECTS ARE SELECTED BASED ON:
  • Ability to meet a clear, identifiable need
  • Demonstration of partnerships and collaboration
  • Detailed plans for managing the project/program: including financials, resources and data tracking
  • Anticipated reach and impact
THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION'S FUNDING LIMITATIONS INCLUDE:
  • Organizations that practice discrimination by race, color, creed, sexual orientation, gender, age, or national origin
  • Clinical or medical research
  • Political projects of any kind
  • Annual fund drives
  • Real estate acquisitions
  • Operating deficits or retirement of debt

APPLICATION PROCESS

HOW ARE APPLICATIONS REVIEWED?

Grant applications are reviewed by the Mental Health Fund for Southwest Iowa Steering Committee and the Community Foundation Board of Directors.

HOW DO YOU SUBMIT AN APPLICATION?
