The Community Foundation hosted its third biennial IMPACT for Women Summit on Thursday, September 25 at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs with more than 500 attendees – a 160% increase from the number of attendees at its first event in 2021.
This year’s Summit was encouraging, inspirational, powerful and AMAZING!
Attendees learned about critical issues facing women and their families in the Community Foundation’s nine-county region. Subject-matter experts shared insights, stories, and expertise in the Women’s Fund’s four focus areas of: education; aging in place; childcare; and health, safety and well-being. This year’s Summit featured Academy Award-Winning-Actress and Author Marlee Matlin as its special keynote speaker. Ms. Matlin shared her personal story of resilience as a warrior and survivor of domestic violence and addiction.
Thank you to our premier presenting sponsors the Rod Rhoden Foundation, Acura of Omaha and Superior Honda of Omaha, and all of our amazing supporters for believing in the Women’s Fund of Southwest Iowa, and for helping us raise awareness of the serious issues facing women and their families in our Fund’s nine-county region.
