The IMPACT for Women Summit is the signature event for the Women’s Fund of Southwest Iowa, an initiative of the Community Foundation for Western Iowa. As positive impact continues to increase, it is important to lead the conversation by gathering subject matter experts in the key areas addressed by the Women’s Fund for insights, ideas, and actionable steps forward. The Women’s Fund of Southwest Iowa is designed to address and support four key focus issues facing women and their families today: 1.) access to affordable, quality child care, 2.) aging in place and in community, 3.) education for women of all ages, and 4.) women’s safety and wellbeing, focusing on human trafficking, domestic violence, and overall wellness.
IMPACT FOR WOMEN SUMMIT - ARCHIVES
The Community Foundation hosted its third biennial IMPACT for Women Summit on Thursday, September 25 at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs with actress Marlee Matlin as its special keynote speaker. This year's Summit increased the number of attendees by 160% from its 2021 inaugural year.
The second-ever Impact for Women Summit was held Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2023 with special keynote speakers Rebecca Bender and three-time Olympic gold medalist, Jackie Joyner-Kersee.
The Women's Fund of Southwest Iowa's inaugural Impact for Women Summit was held on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Ameristar Casino Hotel Council Bluffs featuring special keynote speaker, Elizabeth Smart.
